Mason Falls – Kinglake West: Mason Falls just outside Kinglake is a beautiful family-friendly destination for a nature outing. A 600 m trail from the picnic grounds leads to a vantage point to view the cascading falls, with gentle slopes and forest bridge crossings along the way. For an alternative route, the 500 m Lyrebird Loop Track takes you through lush ferns to Running Creek, perfect for racing leaves downstream. The best time to visit is after rainfall when the water flow is at its most spectacular, but it’s a lovely forest walk at any time of year.
