stones throw

Overlooking Montmorency’s iconic windmill on Were Street, Stones Throw Café is a bright, green-filled spot with plenty of room for kids and prams. Little ones will love sipping milkshakes from their own house-shaped wooden booth surrounded by lush greenery. The seasonal menu is regularly updated, and Mamma enjoyed the pimped-up avocado on toast with macadamia, kaffir lime and sesame crumble, spring onion, homemade chilli jam, feta, lemon, and a poached egg. Kids loved their cheese toastie and Vegecado (Vegemite and avocado on toast) from the Under-12 menu. There are also tempting house-made smoothies and cold-pressed juices to try next time. With the recent upgrades to Were Street’s streetscape, public toilets, and open spaces, it’s a perfect spot for a family outing.
