Keeyma Track is a hidden gem in the Dandenongs, perfect for a family stroll with a bonus of spectacular city and bay views. The trail snakes through beautiful bushland on the west side of Mount Dandenong and can be accessed from either the TV towers off Eyre Road or Ospray Track near the Keeyma Memorial site (parking is limited at both). Along the way, native birds provide a soundtrack to your walk up to Burke’s Lookout. The path is pram-friendly, though you’ll need to lift it over the entrance gate and again on the other side. There are no facilities, but it’s a lovely, kid-friendly bush walk with plenty of fresh air and scenery to enjoy.

William Ricketts Sanctuary – The sanctuary remains closed after major storm damage, but when open, it is a magical, fairy-tale-like experience. Nestled in lush ferny glades, William Ricketts’ sculptures and statues are hidden among the shrubbery and tracks, celebrating Aboriginal spirituality and a respect for nature. Paths are mostly pram-friendly, and smaller trails and lookouts make it a perfect, slow-paced adventure for toddlers and little explorers.
