Murrindindi Scenic Reserve is pure magic. Nestled at the northern edge of Toolangi State Forest, this bushland treasure is home to the beautiful Murrindindi River and the spectacular Wilhelmina Falls. Families can picnic in the day visitors area, swim in the cool river, camp at one of the sites, or explore the many trails. The hike to Wilhelmina Falls is a steep, rocky adventure, perfect for those ready for a challenge. From the SEC camping ground (or the Water Gage campsite, about 6km return), the climb takes roughly 2 hours, with narrow sections that require hand-holding for little adventurers. Once at the top, the view of the 75m waterfall plunging over granite rocks is breathtaking. Don’t forget water, sunscreen, and a change of clothes for a refreshing paddle in the river afterward!
