Wirrawilla Rainforest Walk feels like a hidden tropical oasis, so much so that if you were shown photos you might guess Queensland—but surprise, it’s right in Toolangi in our own north-east backyard. This peaceful, family-friendly walk is an easy roughly 1km loop through the Toolangi Forest, featuring fresh boardwalks that wind through lush ferns, over creeks and gentle cascades, making it totally pram-friendly. The valley stays beautifully cool under the dense canopy, living up to its name Wirrawilla, the local Koori word for “green trees,” and while Mamma wished her kids would slow down and soak it all in instead of racing from platform to platform, the magic of this rainforest is undeniable.
