newell's paddock conservation reserve

Newell’s Paddock is a riverside conservation reserve in central Footscray, home to swans, cranes, and ducks. Fenced to protect the habitat, it’s a great stop along the Maribyrnong River Trail, with nearby parkland featuring soccer goals, BBQs, and open space for play. The reserve is cared for by the Friends of Newell’s Paddock, who regularly welcome volunteers to help maintain the area.
